Welcome to the A to Z Blogging Challenge where I will post on a word
featuring a different letter of the alphabet each day of the month of April.
My theme for this challenge is Female TV Characters.
Dorothy Zbornak - "Golden Girls"
THE STORY: Blanche Devereaux, Rose Nylund and Dorothy Zbornak, along with her mother Sophia Petrillo, share a home in Miami.
UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL: Born in Brooklyn, New York to Italian immigrants, Dorothy is a substitute teacher. She was married to Stanley Zbornak for 38 years and then he left her for a flight attendant. Dorothy is practical and takes no guff from anyone. She has the patience of a saint and deals with the shenanigans of her room mates with grace and dignity.
How do you feel about shoulder pads?
How do you feel about shoulder pads?
I hate them now, but there was a time long ago when I wore them. :)
ReplyDeleteI always loved this character. She had some great lines, and I adored it when she and Sofia dressed up as Sonny and Cher. Too funny!
I liked them in the 80s because I have narrow shoulders. Now I wouldn't be caught dead in them.
ReplyDeleteDorothy and Sophia were my favorite characters on the show. They were hilarious.
I never watched the show during its network run - though I liked that all the NBC sitcoms on that night were in the same connected Universe and Richard Mulligan might drop over to see the ladies from Empty Nest.
ReplyDeleteSince that time my wife watches the reruns - and if I'm in the room I'll generally stick around for an episode or two (they run them in blocks) and think they're pretty funny.
I only wore shoulder pads on the football field.
It's funny how we often become fans of shows in reruns. That's how I started watching thirtysomething, Seindfeld and Fraiser.
