Based on Aaron Sorkin's stage play, A Few Good Men (1992), grabs you by the throat from the first scene and doesn't let go. The screenplay (also by Sorkin) is brilliant. I use this movie as inspiration for writing my own screenplays. Would love to see the stage play sometime.
A very good movie for sure. I saw Rob Reiner on a late night talk show, and he was talking about Jack Nicholson nailing that final courtroom scene - with a huge monologue (I think Reiner said it was 18 pages?) and Reiner was terrified to ask for another take - but he did - and Nicholson nailed it too. Remember when we just thought Tom Cruise was intense and interesting?
ReplyDeleteCraig: Nicholson is excellent. And yes, Tom Cruise in the good old days was at the top of his game.
