This movie scared my socks off.
Bette Davis is horrifying as Baby Jane Hudson, aging child star of Vaudeville. As the years passed, Jane and her sister Blanche (Joan Crawford) would become film stars. Blanche became famous and Jane was so jealous that she ran her over with a car resulting in Blanche living out her days in a wheelchair and ending her acting career. As the sisters aged, Jane took care of Blanche in Blanche's upscale Hollywood home. And Jane just got crazier and crazier.
Here's the dead rat scene:
we watched this not too long ago--my daughter is still singing the song "i've written a letter to daddy"!
ReplyDeleteCreepy movie - and the stars' real life antagonism to each other makes it extra spicy!
ReplyDeleteLynn: How bizarre you're daughter sings the song...Hee hee. Now you'll never get that movie out of your head.
ReplyDeleteCraig: I was following the feud in the Hollywood mags when I was in high school. Surprised they were able to work together at all. Wonder what it was like to work on THAT set!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my all-time favorite movies! I love it!

ReplyDeleteDusty: Me, too. It's cool and creepy. My fave of the old days. I love the suspense. When Blanche threw the note out the window and Jane picked it up, I thought I was gonna DIE!
ReplyDeleteI love Joan Crawfords eyebrows. LOL
