Hey, Hey, We're the Monkees!

Tribute to The Monkees! They got me through the tough times in my preteen years. Their show was the highlight of my week. And of course their pictures were plastered all over the teen magazines, especially Davy Jones. I remember a Brady Bunch episode where Marcia had a crush on Davy, who made a guest appearance on the show. Ah, those were the good old days.

In remembrance of Davy Jones:

  1. Loved watching The Monkees when I was still a youngin'. Davey Jones was my first crush. Several years ago one of the channels I think TV Land used to show Monkees re-runs, I hope someone picks them up and shows them again, they always put a smile on my face.

  2. Shawn: It was such a fun show and was a nice diversion from all depressing news going on in the 1960s. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Truly one of my favorites - the group, the show, and each of the lads. They seemed eternally young no matter how old they got. I got to see them twice on the 20th Anniversary tour, so glad I did. For Davy, my faves were Daydream Believer and Valleri. (I have faves for each Monkee). Thank you for the remembrance, Luana. Who will help us believe our daydreams now?

  4. I was sad when I heard about Davy Jones. I also watched them on TV and bought their first album. I still enjoy their music when it comes on the radio.

  5. Craig: Great songs! I liked Last Train to Clarksville and Day Dream Believer. My favorite Monkee was Mike because he seemed to be the smart one. I also like Micky...cute and funny.

  6. Belle: I miss them, too. You just feel happy listening to their music. It's so cool having access to their music and tv show online. Yay for technology!
